EU Curriculum

The final release of the EU Curriculum for “Specialist in CBIT for person-centered care” includes 59 Learning Outcomes, grouped into 6 Modules.

The TEAMCARE’s Curriculum is:

  • “learning outcome oriented” and compliant with the main EU standard and tools for VET in Higher Education, such as ECVET, EQF and ECTS;

  • General, overarching and transnational, since it is supposed to play a reference role for any VET designer addressing CBIT’s skills gap in any EU country;

  • modular and flexible, since it is supposed to be adaptable to different contexts and rules in different EU countries.

These features will allow for transparency and comparability of the localized curricula and will support the recognition of this qualification by regulatory bodies. 

The Curriculum is based on the Integrated Framework of Competences (IFC) developed in the project. Each module is organized by Units of Learning (from 2 to 6 for each module) which mirror the IFC’s sub-areas of competences. Each LO of the Curriculum addresses one or more competences identified in the IFC and is associated to an alphanumerical code.

Generally, the Curriculum targets post-graduate, licensed professionals such as doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers. The curriculum may award from 20 to 40 ECTS (Comprehensive version) and a specialization within EQF 6 level.

Any VET designer localizing the Curriculum in his/her own country will be able to tailor the number of ECTS according to the specific local needs and to implement a micro-credential accreditation: this process is supported by TEAMCARE Guides and Tools for Designers.  

The template adopted for the detailed description of LOs allows to state and formalize:

  • the LO CODE: a letter corresponding to the module and a progressive number

  • the LO TITLE

  • the COMPETENCE(s) of the IFC addressed by the LO 

  • the PERFORMANCE TYPE, i.e. if the performance/task providing a proof of the achievement of the LOs (e.g. during assessment) is individual, collective (in team) or both of them 

  • the EQF LEVEL of the specific LO: although the Curriculum awards a specialization at EQF6 level, few LOs may be targeted at a lower level (EQF4 or EQF5).

  • Τhe corresponding COMPETENCE targeted by OTHER COMPETENCY FRAMEWORKS, such as DigComp 2.2, EntreComp, LifeComp;
